WORLD’S OLDEST THEME PARK DYREHAVSBAKKEN, DENMARK Also simply called Bakken, the world’s oldest amusement park can be found just north of Copenhagen in the forest park of Dyrehaven. Opened in 1583, the park has a combination of modern rides and charmingly nostalgic older attractions. Included in the latter is the Rutschebanen, a wooden roller coaster that’s been in operation since 1932. Entrance to Bakken is free. bakken.dk

THE GREAT TRAIL, CANADA A 2017 study revealed that hiking is now the most popular adventure tourism activity and with nearly 15,000 miles of paths to choose from, Canada’s Great Trail ensures that outdoor enthusiasts will get their fi x. JEBEL JAIS FLIGHT, RAS AL KHAIMAH, UAE The United Arab Emirates isn’t short of adventurous attractions and the Jebel Jais Flight zip-line is the Guinness World Record-certifi ed latest, allowing those brave enough to take the plunge to experience the surrounding mountain range at blur-inducing speeds. Starting at 1,680 metres above sea level, thrill-seekers can expect to reach speeds of up to 90mph along 1.7 miles of cable. jebeljais.ae
