Music Week digs into the month’s top chart stories...
SECOND TO NONE SABRINA CARPENTER Short ’N Sweet (Polydor) SALES: 45,660
01
Sabrina Carpenter was challenging Sparks in the battle for the weekly No.1 album as Music Week went to press. But for the majority of May, Short ’N Sweet was stuck at No.2 – a position it has held for 25 of its 39 weeks on the chart. The album has also spent four weeks at No.1 (with a fifth in contention) and has never been out of the Top 5, with just four of its 39 chart weeks so far being outside the Top 3. Those incredible chart stats explain why, even without a No.1 on the weekly rundown for the four weeks of our May rankings, Sabrina Carpenter still had the streaming consistency to top the monthly chart with consumption of 45,660 units. Now well beyond double-platinum status, Short ’N Sweet has total consumption of 673,971 units.
