Just for groups! unveils 2019 Go Travelling issue

Tailormade tours specialist just for groups! has doubled the size of its Go Travelling publication, which provides ideas for group organisers. Harold Burke, sales director, said: “The nature of our business is so bespoke that a traditional brochure would never work for us, so we produce regular issues of Go Travelling where we enforce our tailor-made message. “This latest issue increased by

50% to 40 pages and this will continue to rise for future issues. “We cater for all types of groups,

from traditional retirement clubs and associations such as the U3A and Fine Arts Society to our travel club partners. “We are attracting more inbound

groups from China, Australia, Japan and Europe. We recently completed a 19-day geology tour around Ireland which attracted society members from across the US. “We’re delighted to be working

with several supportive tourist boards and partners, and our headline product for 2019 is Ireland, with eight tours featured.” The annual Kynren show in Bishop Auckland also features heavily in Go Travelling, as the event’s reputation grows. “It is now becoming a must-visit

event for every group,” said Burke. “We worked hard to provide a

cross-section of tours, like Kynren, that reflect the standard of holidays we provide for groups. “Many tours include our tour escorts which bring an extra

dimension to a holiday and provide the group leader with support. “We also seek out interesting places that groups can consider such

as National Trust properties including Chiddingstone Village, Sheffield Park and Petworth House. justforgroups.co.uk

Rendezvous reveals Leeds Liverpool

Canal dining option Skipton’s Rendezvous Hotel has introduced an evening dinner cruise option on the Leeds Liverpool Canal as an alternative to the hotel’s restaurant. The three-hour, three-course meal is thought to be the first hotel dinner cruise of this type along the 127-mile canal. Malcolm Weaving, Rendezvous

Hotel owner, said: “Our location by the Leeds Liverpool Canal offers a number of unique opportunities for groups. We already offer daytime boat trips [and] our new dinner cruise brings together the tranquillity of the canal, the magnificent Yorkshire scenery and locally sourced food.” rendezvous-skipton.co.uk

Firms urged to capitalise on growth in coach travel

The Coach Tourism Association and Excursions show are highlighting the potential of group and coach travel, as research shows more than 150 million coach trips are taken in the UK every year. These trips translate into a spend of £1.4 billion, with tourism experts predicting that the demand for coach travel will continue to increase. This growth will be partly

fuelled by the babyboomer generation, whose numbers in the UK are projected to rise from 12.7 million in 2019 to 16.9 million in 2035 – but also by increasing demand from millennials and families. Coach operators such as

Contiki offer dedicated tours for the 18-35 market, while Shearings is increasing its focus on families with the launch of dedicated Family Tours that include child and teen-friendly attractions such as a Harry Potter Studio tour

or a visit to Cadburys World. Fran Downton, senior

marketing manager at Tourism South East, said: “There is a huge choice of coach tours available, offering a variety of adventures for every demographic.”
