The summer we’ve just had in the UK may have left some of us wishing for a do-over. Well, now’s the time to sell your clients their second chance at sunshine, with an array of stunning winter-sun product in the cruise sector. Putting together this issue had us dreaming of on-deck yoga while sailing through the Costa Rican rainforest and Christmas in the Cape Verde Islands. You can read our guide to selling winter sun this season and beyond on pages 29-45, including some handy dos and don’ts. For this edition, we’ve also been travelling the canals of the Netherlands on a barge with European Waterways (pages 18-20) and sailing the Croatian coast on a small ship with APT Travelmarvel (pages 22-24). We speak with Uniworld’s LGBTQ+ cruise host, Gregg Kaminsky, for some insight into what clients can expect on the line’s Out on the Rivers sailings (page 12), plus we take a sneak peek inside ‘ships within ships’ – VIP areas for suite customers with added perks, from 24-hour butlers to complimentary spa access and exclusive bars and restaurants (page 15). You never know, they might just make a nice way to upsell a winter-sun cruise. Enjoy!
