InsideJapan has unveiled a Senses of Summer campaign to encourage bookings during the destination’s quieter months. The campaign, part of
InsideJapan’s ‘undertourism’ strategy to tackle overtourism, highlights attractions during the summer season when holidays cost up to £920 less per person.
travelweekly.co.uk 16 29 MAY 2025 The escorted tours operator is
offering up to 15% off small-group tours in June, July and August. Co-founder Simon King said:
“Japan is probably one of the few places in the world that is a little bit cheaper and quieter on the ground during the summer months and in some ways, it is a better time to travel.”
Senior tailor-made product
manager Kate Samuel said many traditional festivals are held in the o ff-peak season. “Although it doesn’t have
cherry blossom, it is rich in cultural experiences, as well being one of the best times of year to see sights with fewer crowds,” she said.

has taken 18 months to put together and was described by Typically managing director Daniele Broccoli as a “labour of love”. He said: “We wanted to put together a luxury
programme because we were having more and more agents asking if we offered a premium product. We already offer the five-star service but most of our hotels are three-star or four-star.” He added: “I spent a long time checking hotels
and looking at locations to get everything right for the programme. We have tried to add all the extra, little touches.” Some of the properties were already featured by
Typically Holidays, but 80% are new for the Luxury Collection brochure. Clients will receive leather ticket wallets with their
documentation while the operator has also secured contracts to offer private jet hire if needed. A six-night twin-centre trip to Venice and Florence
costs from £2,854, including flights and private transfers. It includes three nights’ bed and breakfast at the five-star Hotel Cadidio in Venice in a junior suite, executive-class train seats for the transfer to Florence and a three-night stay at the five-star Hotel Lungarno in Firenze. Included excursions are a private escorted gondola tour in Venice and a private vintage Fiat 500 tour in Florence.
