Here at Seabourn, June has been our ‘Expedition Month’ and we have had great fun setting up immersive agent webinars about Antarctica, the Arctic, Kimberley and the Northwest Passage. Nearly 500 agent partners have joined us for these online events to learn first-hand from our Seabourn Expedition Experts.
Well, summer is well underway – and here at
home we’ve finally had some weather to match! While most of us love the sunshine, holidays are also about adventure and exploration . . . sometimes pushing us beyond our comfort zone to do the ‘Polar Plunge’ (a Seabourn rite of passage!), go kayaking in Antarctica or even take a very special submarine dive to never-seen-before depths of the ocean.
We are lucky in our industry not only to enjoy so many
incredible experiences but also to be able to connect and give back to the communities we visit. This Saturday (June 29), we celebrate the naming of Seabourn Pursuit in Australia’s remote Kimberley region, with the Wunambal Gaambera Traditional Owners as godparents.
Seabourn’s donation will assist Wunambal Gaambera
to develop a self-sustaining industry, producing authentic arts and crafts to sell. We will also supply pearl shells, art supplies and polishing materials to foster sustainable, commercial arts and craft initiatives year-round for Wunambal Gaambera artists and craft producers.
I am personally so proud that Seabourn made this
decision, which allows us to drive long-term sustainable positive change in line with the values we and our guests stand for. I cannot wait to share the photos of this momentous occasion with you.
