What at week it’s been. I am just back from an amazing day on Seabourn Venture in Dublin with some of our Irish travel agent partners!
It’s been a year since I was very proud to act as
Madrina to our second expedition ship,Seabourn Pursuit, at the shipyard in Genoa. Now we’ve released some very exciting news about the official naming of the ship on her inaugural season in Australia. Representatives of the Wunambal Gaambera Aboriginal Corporation of
the Kimberley of Western Australia will be godparents to Seabourn Pursuit when the ship is officially named during the June 22 inaugural Kimberley expedition sailing.
The Wunambal Gaambera people are the traditional
owners of a region in the Kimberley that includes the sea country of Ngula Jar Island (Vansittart Bay), the Yirinni river (Hunter River) and the freshwater country of Ngauwudu (Mitchell Plateau).
Seabourn is the first cruise company to appoint a
traditional landowner group as godparents – a symbolic gesture of stewardship and responsibility toward the environment and the communities that Seabourn visits.
Onboard ship, we intend to regularly invite local
guides from the Wunambal Gaambera people and other Aboriginal language groups to act as interpreters and to enlighten guests with stories of their land. With so many languages, no two stories by different language groups will be alike – which will be part of the magic for guests.

all impacted customers will be contacted by their booking agent to discuss the options available. “These include rebooking
with a £200 per person reduction or receiving a full refund. We apologise for the disappointment and inconvenience caused.”
