EasyJet introduces Swedish ski route from two UK airports


EasyJet has introduced flights to Sweden’s Scandinavian Mountains airport for next winter. The new services from


Gatwick and Manchester will open up the ski resorts in Sälen. The no-frills carrier will


depart weekly from both UK airports from December 6. The services will be the first to


Scandinavian Mountains airport by a UK low-cost carrier. The shortest transfer time to


the nearest ski resort, Hundfjället in Sälen, is 10 minutes by car. Sälen offers 190 pistes, with


slopes for all skill levels, making it suitable for families, groups and first-time skiers. Gunnar Lenman, chief executive

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have unveiled a “significant expansion” of their Jersey programme for 2026 by introducing flights from Bournemouth, as well as extra capacity from Newcastle and extended seasons from East Midlands and Leeds Bradford. The expansion means the sister brands have nearly


50,000 seats on sale between Jersey and the UK mainland next summer, representing a capacity increase of more than 50% compared with summer 2025. Chief executive Steve Heapy said: “We are delighted


to be significantly expanding our Jersey programme for summer 2026, following continued demand from customers and independent travel agents.” The new route from Bournemouth will operate from

Qatar Airways expands Manchester service to Doha with extra flights


Qatar Airways is raising frequency from Manchester airport this summer with three additional weekly services. The new flights will run on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, boosting its Doha link to 24 flights a week from June 4.
