Playa rebrands some venues after takeover by hotel group Hyatt
Playa Hotels & Resorts has changed the brand names of some of its hotels following its takeover by hotel group Hyatt. The Hilton La Romana Family
and Hilton La Romana Adult Only, both in the Dominican Republic, are now Dreams La Romana and Secrets La Romana respectively. The Hilton Rose Hall in
Jamaica is now Dreams Rose Hall, while Hilton Playa del Carmen in Mexico becomes Hyatt Vivid Playa del Carmen, and Wyndham Alltra Cancun, also in Mexico, is now Sunscape Cancun. The company said it was
“business as usual” and is offering double reward points on
playarewards.com for seven-night bookings at the hotels, when logged by agents by July 31.

Tui adds capacity, routes and hotels for winter 2026-27

Tui UK & Ireland has unveiled its winter 2026-27 range, with extra capacity to Thailand and Jamaica, new routes to Turkey and Egypt, and the addition of Arctic Lakeland. The operator also added three concept hotels for the
season: Tui Blue Yaramar in Costa del Sol; Tui Magic Life Redsina in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt; and Holiday Village Skanes Resort, Tunisia. Phuket in Thailand and Montego Bay in Jamaica
will each see an additional weekly flight from Gatwick in response to demand for winter departures. Thailand weddings will be available for the first time
in a winter season, bringing the total number of winter wedding destinations to 15. New routes include East Midlands to Antalya and Sharm el-Sheikh, plus Cardiff to Hurghada. Arctic
Norse Atlantic Airways to launch
direct Manchester-Bangkok route Norse Atlantic Airways is to operate its first direct service from Manchester to Bangkok from November 26. Flights will be once a week in winter, departing on Wednesdays at 11.30pm, arriving at 6pm in Thailand. Return fares start from £259. The airline hailed the launch as a “game-changing alternative” to indirect, lengthier connections.

Lapland service this Christmas EasyJet will offer a twice-weekly route from Southend to Lapland this winter. The service to Rovaniemi in Finland, from December 1 until January 9, 2026, will operate on Mondays and Fridays. EasyJet opened its Southend base in March, using three A320neo aircraft.

British Airways subsidiaries to
serve Rabat, Graz and Madrid BA Euroflyer, British Airways’ Gatwick-based subsidiary, will launch services to Rabat and Graz in November. BA’s London City-based subsidiary, BA CityFlyer, will then begin flying to Madrid from December 1. Rabat flights are to operate twice- weekly from November 5, while Graz will be served three times a week from November 21.
