MAGICAL MADEIRA

Twelve agents enjoy VIP treatment and a range of incredible experiences on amazing Atlantic island

Travel Weekly recently whisked 12 lucky agents away to the stunning island of Madeira for an unforgettable VIP Cover Stars trip, in partnership with Jet2holidays. The agent winners are set to grace the front pages of the UK’s top trade magazine throughout 2026. Flying from Manchester airport with Jet2.com, the winners

experienced the perks associated with Indulgent Escapes packages, including access to a special priority lane and onboard vouchers, plus access to the Escape Lounge before taking off. After landing at Madeira’s Cristiano Ronaldo Airport, the

excitement continued with a private transfer to the five-star Savoy Palace in Funchal. Each agent received a goodie bag and headed to their luxurious rooms to freshen up before enjoying lunch. During the week, the group explored the vibrant city centre of

Funchal, took a scenic cable car ride to Monte and enjoyed the beautiful Monte Palace Gardens. They also took a sunset boat tour, admired the views from the Ponta do Rosto Viewpoint and visited traditional Santana houses. A jeep tour allowed them to explore more of the island, and they had a fun wine tasting and poncha-making class (traditional Madeiran drink). To top it all off, they dined at some of Madeira’s best restaurants in some incredible locations.

Sophie Helsby, trade marketing manager at Jet2holidays and

co-host of the trip, said: “We had an incredible trip to Madeira, showing our 12 lucky travel agents the stunning island and all that Jet2holidays can offer its customers. “We are already seeing the bookings rolling in from the travel

agents on the trip, showing the power that experiencing the destination has on being able to sell it. I’m excited to see them on the covers of Travel Weekly in 2026!” Winner Denise Armour, from The Holiday Village, said: “Being one

of the Travel Weekly Cover Stars has been a life-changing experience. It reminded me of my strength and my passion for this industry. “I’ll cherish the pride I felt during my photoshoot in Santana,

representing both myself and the amazing world of travel. I’m so grateful for this opportunity and can’t wait to see my cover when it’s published in 2026.” Fellow winner Laura Longhurst, from Hays Travel, added: “A huge

thanks to Travel Weekly and Jet2holidays for putting together such an unforgettable trip. I’m returning home feeling inspired, re-energised and more excited than ever to share the magic of Madeira with my clients. Honestly, I felt like a rock star, and I encourage all my colleagues to apply for Cover Stars 2027.”
