Cash in on the enduring demand for foreign currency by partnering with Spendology
d
Before joining Spendology I just assumed travel cash was a sunset product at the end of its lifetime, like travellers’ cheques, with all the emphasis on cards and apps. I was wrong.
Travel cash is still by far the preferred payment method for Brits travelling abroad and, according to the latest post-Covid Mintel report, is still way ahead of all other payment types including credit, debit and currency cards. Astonishingly, nearly 7 in
10 Brits buy currency in the UK pre-departure in a market that’s worth £13 billion annually. But why is cash so important
overseas when the UK has almost become cash-free?
I• It’s reliable n unfamiliar territory, possibly with language barriers, customers
worry about cards not working, the ATM being out of service or getting ‘payment not accepted’ on a card machine.
• Sometimes it’s the only way When it comes to paying for
taxis, coffee, local market shopping, tipping or spending money for children, it just has to be cash.
C• Cash costs nothing to use ustomers worry about nasty
surprises back home when unexpected costs and charges appear on their bank statement. Cash helps stay on budget.
Now travel companies can offer travel cash to their customers directly, saving their customers the job of going to the Post Office, supermarket or bank, while also making themselves a valuable extra margin on each order and helping boost this year’s profits. It’s easier than you think too. See
spendology.com for details.
