Kuoni boosts short-haul range with 43 hotels

Kuoni has added 43 hotels in Italy, Portugal, Spain, Greece, Croatia, Cyprus and Malta to its 2022 range of short-haul holidays. The upmarket operator aims to
strengthen its offering for special- occasion travel – such as birthdays, anniversaries and honeymoons – and to cater for short-haul demand as well as its traditional long-haul market. About 30% of Kuoni’s bookings
for 2022 are for honeymoons, with many couples rebooking after cancelled wedding plans amid the pandemic. The operator said its average honeymoon booking value had risen by 13% from £7,985 in 2019 to £9,045 for 2022. The operator has also chosen

tours of New Zealand Riviera Travel has launched a 22-day New Zealand: Land of the Long White Cloud escorted tour for 2023. It offers 11 departure dates, including three exclusively for solo travellers. The tour visits the Franz Josef glacier, the Southern Alps, Abel Tasman National Park, Milford Sound and several cities. Prices start at £4,799 including flights.

Intrepid wheels out four new US cycle tours
Intrepid Travel has added four six-day cycling tours to its US range. The itineraries are Utah’s Bryce Canyon and Zion national parks; Maine and Acadia National Park; Washington’s San Juan Islands; and California’s Sonoma and Napa Valley. The tours cost from £1,815 and exclude flights. Trips booked before October 11 can be secured with a £1 deposit.

It was a busy September on our runway as we welcomed back some of our longstanding airline partners. Air India resumed services to Amritsar, then Brussels Airlines and Swiss returned to serve their popular business routes to Brussels and Zurich.
Ryanair launched six routes, to Bergamo, Lisbon, Bucharest, Shannon, Turin and Vilnius, and easyJet started a service to Amsterdam to add to its portfolio of destinations from Birmingham Airport.
We welcomed the relaxation of travel rules that will make international travel more straightforward and hopefully boost confidence for passengers to get away soon.
It was great to also see Turkey moving from the red list and our partners responding to this change, with
Jet2.com, Tui and Turkish Airlines all restarting their flying programmes to this popular winter holiday destination.
More good news is that British Airways will be returning after three years, with flights between Belfast and Birmingham.
