As drizzle hits Britain, it feels like the beginning of the end of Summer 2023. But what a summer it’s been. I previously mentioned BHX’s ‘Giant July’
announcements: Emirates’ A380 returning (twice-daily Dubai), Qatar Airways (daily Doha) coming back and Saudia (thrice-weekly Jeddah) starting to operate here.

So, as we enter September, how our Gulf-based titans
doing? Emirates and Qatar are each at 96% capacity on average on all their BHX flights, and Saudia – yet to start actively marketing its services – is more than 85% loaded. By this measure alone, it’s been a successful first month.

Meanwhile, easyJet has announced Fuerteventura
services for summer 2024, and Salzburg from January to the end of the winter. Great news. Work continues on our new £40 million security hall,
which will be operational for June 2024. This is just one of the upgrades planned at BHX over the coming decade as we grow from serving 12 million customers a year to 18 million-plus by 2033. Till next time,
