Deben Travel @DebenTravel Blimey! Not had a brochure delivery for a while. It may not be the pallet we would usually

receive this time of year but nice to see

Andy Freeth @Andy_Freeth JG Travel Group Officially the first day in new role tomorrow. I have to say, though, starting a new job from my desk on my landing at home feels a little strange to say the least!

Westoe Travel @westoetravel Now that we are in tier 4, we have packed everything into the van and are working from home.

The best of your letters, comments and social media this week Trust accounts: Escrow is the way to go

Story: Most trust accounts ‘don’t operate in accordance with PTRs’ It is not true to say that operators with trust accounts have performed no differently from bonded operators when it comes to customer refunds. On the contrary, their performance has been far better. It is also not correct to assume that all tour operators pay suppliers in advance and that this prevents them from operating trust accounts. Holding client payments in escrow ought to be a statutory requirement, not just for tour operators but for any business which takes money in advance of the delivery of goods or a service. Enacting such a law would be relatively simple but it would take a proactive government with vision. It would also require businesses with much stronger balance sheets. Given the terrible damage this government’s handling of the Covid-19 crisis has wreaked on many industries, it is unfortunately not something we are going to see any time soon. Paul Sawbridge
