Carrier targets agents with its first peaks trade-first campaign
Carrier has launched its first “trade-first” peaks campaign, arming agents with a “ready-made marketing campaign to inspire and engage affluent travellers”. The operator’s The Importance
of Elsewhere campaign offers agents digital resources and collateral to promote its programme of luxury holidays. It has an initial focus on 10
destinations with curated “digital stories” to help agents showcase the key selling points of each. More destinations will be added. Head of marketing Natasha
Towey said the campaign was focused on “storytelling” and aimed to capitalise on a growing “desire to be elsewhere”. She said this was the first time
Carrier had created a trade-first campaign. Previously, the operator has devised marketing collateral to suit its direct client base before repurposing it for the trade. The operator said up to 50%
of bookings in recent months had come from agents who hadn’t worked with Carrier before. Its 2021 peaks campaign collateral is available to all agent partners.

packed, multi-centre adventure” across Florida before meeting at Universal Orlando Resort. Three places will be given to Gold Medal’s top
Florida sellers from January 4 to February 28, and three more to the top sellers of Virgin Atlantic flights. Six places will be picked from all agents who make
Florida bookings in the period, and six more during a Gold Medal Florida webinar which will take place in January, with agents urged to look out for the date.

9Number of Gold Medal/Travel 2 account managers retained in merger
Gold Medal sales director Nick Hughes said: “We
are treating this January like a normal peaks. If there is an upturn we are ready to make the most of it.” Hughes said mini brochures, selling guides and
window posters were also being made available, as well as social media-friendly marketing assets for agents. He stressed all nine account managers had been
retained in the merger with sister operator Travel 2, so agents had “as much support as ever”. Travel 2 sub-brands Incredible Journeys and Cruise
Plus have been retained while Simply Luxury has been merged with Gold Medal’s Pure Luxury.
