hen the iconic property in hesterfi eld went on the market, couple ames and ebecca knew it was the right proect for them. uilt in by the inventor of stainless steel, arry rearley, the house was in need of some love. rearley purchased the site at the end of the irst orld ar, and the six bedroom home now sits on more than an acre of spectacular gardens. he couple, having always lived in hesterfi eld, were aware of the house and its famous previous occupant, so they umped at the chance when they discovered it was up for sale. ames said eve always liked proects, this was the most unloved property on the street that needed some welldeserved hey initially thought the proect would take months to complete, there isnt a suare inch of the property or grounds that havent been refurbished or modifi ed in some way, therefore months went into two years t cost twice as much as we thought and took twice as long, but we wanted it done a certain way to ensure we achieved the perfect result. ames and ebecca knew that it wouldve been far simpler and costeffective to knock the house down and start again, but didnt want to add to the throwaway society we
