The group – which focuses on enabling organisations to run and digitally transform its business with solutions spanning the four areas of providing tools to build, operate, secure and analyse the enterprise – saw its share price rise 56%.
It showed it was capable of dealing with life in the pandemic back in March when it transferred its flagship customer event, Micro Focus Universe, from a live event planned for The Hague, Netherlands, to an online session. “Shifting a major company event from live to virtual in a matter of weeks is no small task,” said Genefa Murphy, chief marketing officer.
Main honours in the large company section went to International Consolidated Airlines Group (up 35%). The Anglo-Spanish airline holding company has its operational headquarters in London since being formed in 2011 after a merger agreement between British Airways and Iberia.
Among the smaller companies Galliford Try, the Uxbridge-based construction group, saw a 24% rise after a trading update that confirmed it had a strong order book up 10% at £3.2 billion.
