Dr Alice Curry Lantana Publishing Founder and publisher
Alice is the founder and publisher of Lantana Pub- lishing, an award-winning independent publishing company that was nomi-
nated for the Bologna Prize for Best Children’s Publisher of the Year 2017. A former academic lecturer and free- lance editor, Alice won this year’s Kim Scott Walwyn Prize, an award given to a woman working in the book trade who has made an exceptional contribution to the industry.

Dr Ger Graus OBE KidZania

Ger began his teaching career at Taverham High School in Norwich. Later, as an adviser for Man- chester City Council, he
was responsible for the introduction of modern languages into primary schools. In 2007, he was named the founding chief executive of the Children’s Uni- versity. Ger was awarded an honorary doctorate by Staffordshire University in 2011, made an adjunct fellow by the University of Adelaide in 2013, and awarded an OBE in 2014 for services to children. He joined KidZania in 2014.
Catherine Johnson Author
Catherine has written many books for young readers, including Carn- egie-nominated and YA Book Prize-shortlisted The
Curious Tale of The Lady Caraboo, and Sawbones, which was also nominated for the Carnegie Medal and won the Young Quills award for historical fiction. She also writes for TV and film, recently working on the big-screen production “Bullet Boy”. Her latest book is Blade and Bone.

Phil is the buying man- ager for books at Asda and a council member of the Booksellers Associa- tion of the UK & Ireland.
After graduating with a degree in His- tory from the University of Glasgow, Phil joined ASDA and, in the past 20 years, he has worked in most of its non-food retail areas, before moving into books three years ago. Having found the publishing industry, he says he never wants to leave...!

Allie is an accomplished host of events, and has done so for the Cheltenham Literary Festival, the Sunday Times Edu- cation Festival, the Oldie Soho Literary Festival and the Hay Festival. Her plat- form at the National Theatre in Novem- ber 2016, with special guests Samuel West and Hattie Morahan, was a sell-out success.

Nadine Kaadan Author, illustrator
Nadine is an award- winning children’s book author and illustrator. Her book Answer me, Leila! won the Anna Lindh Prize
in 2011. Her latest title, The Jasmine Sneeze, is one of the first children’s books published in the UK to touch on Syria’s culture and heritage in a period of history marred by war. Nadine has been invited to speak at several international book fairs, and her work was recently featured in a BBC short film and in CNN’s Connect the World programme.

He was part of the team that successfully completed the deal to merge Pen- guin and Random House in 2013. Ron is an established film and media executive, writer and producer, work- ing across the spectrum of traditional and new media.
He is currently producing a stage ver- sion of the acclaimed CBS TV show “The Twilight Zone”. His consultancy and rights advisory business supports major corporations, independent producers and trade bodies operating in the international film, TV, stage and new media industries.

Cristina oversees Hay festivals in Peru, Mexico, Colombia, Spain and Den- mark. She was previously the director of national
events at Canning House, promoting cultural understanding between Latin America and the UK. During her time at Hay, Cristina has developed and directed a series of projects promoting emerging talent from around the world, partnering with UNESCO on its World Book Capital initiative.

Tamara is the owner of Tales on Moon Lane, an award-winning children’s bookshop based in Herne Hill, south London. She
combines running the bookshop with writing children’s books, and has just launched Moon Lane Ink CIC, a social enterprise focused on raising equality in children’s books.
