Under-35s vie for latest illustration award
T
his will be the 12th time BCBF and Spanish publisher Ediciones SM will name a winner of the International
Award for Illustration, the prize that recog- nises young (under 35), early career illustra- tors with an award of €15,000 in order to develop a picture book to be released by SM. Last year’s winner was Taiwanese artist and animator Pei-Hsin Cho, who will adapt the Oscar Wilde fairytale “The Fisherman and His Soul” for SM. Also awarded at this event are the Ars in Fabula Grant for postgraduate studies in children’s illustration and a prize- giving ceremony for all the artists selected for BCBF’s 2022 Illustrators Exhibition.
