Keira Knightley ( 1) I Love You Just the Same Simon & Schuster Children’s, 23rd, £20, HB, 9781398531741
In Knightley’s children’s book, which she both wrote and
illustrated, a little girl feels rejected by her mother after the birth of her sister. In a dream, she enters into an Alice in Wonderland-esque world where her sister is taken by a bird and the heroine is offered a choice by a magical cat: find baby and take her home, or return to “before”. Whimsical and charming, I Love You Just the Same is a heartfelt exploration of a pivotal moment in a child’s emotional growth.
