ECONOMIC INDICATORS


Retail Sales Retail sales for 2019 started off strong coming in at $52.3 million. This is the largest January sales for Ardmore since 2016.


Building Permits


A total of 67 building permits valuing $3.2 million, were issued by the City of Ardmore during the month of January. This is a significant increase in value over January 2018 when 71 permits were issued worth $1.4 million. This can be attributed to continued commercial development throughout Ardmore.


Carter County Unemployment 681 persons, or 3.1% of the Carter County labor force, filed for unemployment in December 2018. Beginning at 4.5% in January 2018, the unemployment rate steadily dropped throughout the year. This trend is expected to continue as the regional economy remains robust.
