MY 2 CENTS

Cross-training opportunities can ensure a versatile workforce capable of supporting both industries.

Equitable access to low-altitude airspace is

another critical need. By uniting,

helicopters and eVTOLs can advocate for policies that promote safe and efficient integration while advancing innovation and public trust. Collaborative research presents further opportunities. Noise reduction technologies developed for eVTOLs could benefit helicopters, while rotorcraft safety and aerodynamic lessons

could inform eVTOL designs.

Working together, these industries can push the boundaries of what vertical flight can achieve.

My visit to Wing underscored that the

future of vertical lift depends

on partnerships between traditional rotorcraft and eVTOL pioneers. Verticon 2025 will be a pivotal event where leaders from both industries can come together to share ideas, forge partnerships, and align efforts toward common goals. The conference will feature sessions on airspace

management, sustainability,

infrastructure, and workforce development, alongside opportunities to see cutting-edge technologies in action. It’s a chance to explore how helicopters and eVTOLs can complement each other to advance vertical-lift technology.

Helicopters and eVTOLs are not adversaries; they are partners in progress. Each technology brings unique strengths, and together they can address challenges neither could solve alone. The emergence of eVTOL technology marks an exciting chapter in the evolution of vertical lift. By collaborating rather than competing, we can ensure that both thrive and shape a future where vertical flight transforms lives.

For those who want to be part of this transformative journey, I encourage you to join us at Verticon 2025. Let’s explore how helicopters and eVTOLs can work together to reach shared goals, paving the way for a brighter, more connected future.
