Can You Hear-Thru Your Helmet?

Hear-Thru® helps you

communicate with personnel who are not wearing helmets or headsets. It is especially useful when talking with medical patients and ground personnel: You don’t have to take off your helmet to hear them.

Two small microphones transmit outside sounds to the respective left or right earcup, allowing you to sense the sound’s direction. An amplifier limits ambient sounds to 82 decibels to protect hearing.

Hear-Thru is powered by a small battery mounted on the helmet, so it works even when out of the aircraft. You turn it on and control the volume by turning a control knob on the left rear of the helmet.

Gibson & Barnes can install Hear-Thru in new helmets or in your existing helmet.
