News Hartford Care acquires five Kent care homes
Hartford Care has acquired five fully operational homes across Kent from The Graham Care Group. Under the Hartford Care brand, the acquisition by Foundation Partners and Deer Capital takes their total investment in the care sector to over £300m in the last 12 months, adding a further 513 bedrooms to a growing portfolio which now comprises 29 homes and over 1,800 bedrooms. The newly acquired homes are Cornford House and Hazeldene House in Pembury, Woodchurch House in Ashford, Hawkinge House on the outskirts of Folkestone, and Hawkhurst House in Hawkhurst. Together, the homes have a current occupancy in excess of 95 per cent.

New Hallmark CEO announces growth strategy shift
Newly promoted Hallmark Luxury Care Homes CEO Nye Brown has unveiled the provider’s ambitious plans for growth. Hallmark is targeting growth of 15 care homes by 2030, of which 10 will be through acquisition. This marks a shift in strategy for Hallmark , which has made a name for itself by designing and building a series of award- winning care homes. Last year, Hallmark opened two new build homes in Eastbourne and Bath, and acquired Penylan House in Cardiff. Brown’s growth plan will build on an existing pipeline of developments in Essex, Kent, Greater London, and East Sussex, with a new home scheduled to break ground in South Wales this year.
