to be on site with this exciting project for our new client Care Concern Group. We have already erected new hoarding and installed our site welfare before constructing a new entrance road and undertaking ground excavation works in preparation for the piling activity which will run until November 2025. This is going to be a challenging project on a tight site footprint, beside a busy road and involving a lot of ground preparation to facilitate new basement levels, but we are well prepared with an excellent team on site. “Farrans has an extensive portfolio of
delivering for the care sector across England. In fact, we previously delivered neighbouring property Signature at Hendon Hall for Signature Care Homes so it is nice to be back in an area we have worked in before.”
Old Hastings House care home in Hastings, East Sussex – originally built in 1700 – has been sold to an established local operator. Registered for 60 residents, Old Hastings House was once the home of an eighteenth-century mayor of Hastings. The home, which enjoys views across Hastings Old Town, has been owned by The Magdalen and Lasher Charity since 1981. Following a confidential sales process with John Harrison at Christie & Co, Old Hastings House has been sold to Mr and Mrs Thind, who operate The Laurels Nursing Home in Hastings.
John Harrison, director – care at Christie & Co, said: “I am delighted to have sold Old Hastings House for The Magdalen and Lasher Charity following a confidential sales process. We received strong interest, and I am sure that Mr and Mrs Thind will be able to use their considerable experience in the local care market to ensure the strong, well-established reputation Old Hastings House enjoys will continue. This sale shows the good demand we are continuing to see for care homes across the South East.”

“Every detail has been meticulously
considered and crafted to create a truly luxurious sanctuary where every need is anticipated. We are really looking forward to the completion of the internal works in the coming months, and the finalising of the interior design. Herne Bay Manor promises to be an inviting and indulgent environment.”
