Set up over ten years ago, CCFTV’s primary focus is advocating for the implementation of independent safety monitoring in care homes, with an emphasis on ensuring safer and specialised care for people living with dementia. Avnish Goyal CBE – chair of industry- leading care provider, Hallmark Luxury Care Homes, which he founded 25 years ago in 1997. Avnish is also the executive chair of award-winning care home construction company, Savista Developments and new assisted living brand, Santhem Residences. He is also the founding trustee and patron of The Care Workers’ Charity. In 2020, Avnish and his wife, Anita Goyal MBE, were named as ambassadors for the Alzheimer’s Society and in 2022, Avnish was awarded a for his services to social care and philanthropy. On 20 March at 13:30 on the Keynote Stage, Avnish will be taking part in the panel discussion The endless potential of careers in care.
Karolina Gerlich – CEO of The Care Workers Charity and a former care worker who spent 12 years supporting people in their own homes before becoming a leader in the sector. Karolina has been CEO of The Care Workers’ Charity since 2020 and represents the workforce at every opportunity, as a member of multiple advisory boards and as part of the leadership team for IMPACT, the UK centre for implementing evidence in adult social care. She is passionate about social care and social justice and never misses a chance to advocate for care workers. On 21 March at 11:00 on the Keynote Stage, Karolina will be taking part in a panel discussion on the National Care Awareness Survey.
Cynthia Bullock – deputy director of Healthy Ageing, Cynthia leads the innovation activities across the government’s £98 million Healthy Ageing Challenge supporting the development and delivery of products and services that will allow people to remain active, productive, independent, and socially connected across generations for as long as possible. She will be Addressing challenges in health and social care through innovation at the Business, Facilities & Environments theatre at 12:00 on 21 March.
Helen Whately – appointed Minister of State in the Department for Health and Social Care (DHSC) in October 2022. Previously, she was Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury between September 2021 and July 2022, and Minister of State (Minister for Care) at the Department of Health and Social Care from February 2020 to September 2021. Helen will be delivering Keynote address at 13:00 on 21 March. n
