Outstanding Society Learning Lounge, where attendees will be able to hear best practice examples and practical advice on how to improve their CQC rating. There will also be a ‘Meet the inspector’ hub in partnership with the CQC, allowing people to seek advice on their biggest concerns and receive hands-on tips for upcoming inspections. As a Health Plus Care exclusive, we have some extra social care sessions taking place in the Institute of Health and Social Care Management Theatre at The Healthcare Show, co-located with The Residential & Home Care Show.


Voices from across the social care sector Speaking at this year’s event are such luminaries as: n Ann Taylor, chair of Kent Integrated Care Alliance. Ann, a founding Director of Hilton Nursing Partners, has over 20 years’ experience of holding senior managerial positions within the health and social care sector. Ann sits on various local and national groups to support the development of new models of care and workforce development strategies to deliver them. As a founder member of ‘Women Achieving Greatness in Social Care’ Ann’s drive is to ensure that female rising stars within our sector are mentored, supported, and given equal opportunities to achieve greatness as leaders of the future.


n Samantha Crawley, non-executive director of The Outstanding Society. Having worked for almost 20 years in social care leadership, Samantha is passionate about inspiring passion within the hearts of minds of every person with a vocation to support people in their care journey. She champions the importance of language, emotional intelligence, authentic leadership, and the acceptance of vulnerability in all of us as being key to building resilience in our core & leadership teams across social care.


n Zoe Fry, director of The Outstanding Society. Zoe is a registered nurse who started working in Care Homes at the age of 13. It was here that her love for the older generation began. In her NHS career, Zoe quickly worked her way up to surgical ward sister, matron for general medicine, before then developing her business skills as a general manger in the NHS. In 2008, Zoe purchased a nursing home and transformed it into

n Amar Puttanna, consultant diabetologist of University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Trust. Amar is particularly interested in education, having won teaching awards from the University of Birmingham and the Royal College of Physicians. He currently sits on the MRCP Part 1 examining board. In 2018, Amar won an RCP Excellence in Patient Care Award for contribution to the profession. His interests are in cardiovascular disease, diabetes management in older adults, and cognitive impairment, where his DIADEM project has won a Quality in Care (QiC) Diabetes award. He is involved in writing guidelines on older adults with diabetes with the Joint British Diabetes Societies (JBDS) and guidelines/patient leaflets for TREND- UK on diabetes and dementia. Amar has worked on local guidelines for type 2 diabetes management, highlighting cardiovascular risk reduction and frailty sections.


n Vic Rayner OBE, CEO of National Care Forum. Professor Vic Rayner OBE is the chair of the government Strategic Advisory Forum on the social care workforce, co-chair of the National Social Care Advisory Group on social care and technology, and sits on a range of government and national specialist groups with a focus on the social care workforce, digital transformation, new models of care, and regulation. Vic has an MBA (Distinction), MA and BA (Hons) in Politics, Philosophy and Economics, was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours 2021, and is an Honorary Professor in Health Sciences, City University.


n Karolina Gerlich, CEO of The Care Workers’ Charity. Karolina has worked as a care worker for over 12 years. She is a passionate advocate for the rights and wellbeing of the social care workforce,
