The Workstream’s expertise and breadth of knowledge had been extended when a number of new Associates joined, and in addition to Philip Ross, it now consisted of Richard Brown (Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust), Jen Aspinall (Vinci Construction), Garry Charlton (CAD21), Phil Barsby (Intastop), Kevin Gorman (Britplas), and Cath Lake (P+HS Architects).


Jonathan Campbell, who leads the Conference and Exhibition Workstream, explained that the 2021 DiMHN conference and exhibition saw 47 organisations exhibit, 22 of them DiMHN members. A total of 92 delegates and 30 speakers attended the conference.

Philip Ross elaborated: “We’ve always aimed to ensure that the results from testing show a graded performance to allow designers and specifiers to choose from a spectrum of risk mitigation, balancing this with aesthetics and the feel of a product.”

Philip Ross explained: “We also moved to a more graduated categorisation of performance for ligatures – moving to record both the weight grade achieved, and which cord type this was achieved with.” The revisions had been signed off, with testing re- starting in October, and six manufacturers had already signed up to get their products tested, ‘with many more discussing it’.
