E BME EXPO 20 2 2
Central monitoring of infusions With over 30 years’ experience in the Medtech sector, PENTLAND MEDICAL aims to improve staff and patient safety, while meeting the current demands of cost-conscious healthcare budgets. This year, the company is sponsoring the EBME Expo 2021 and will be promoting its Monidrop IV Fluid Monitor and Remote Monitoring software. Monidrop attaches to commonly used gravity IV sets and calculates flow rate and total volumes infused. This information is transmitted wirelessly, allowing all Monidrop infusions in a department or ward to be monitored centrally; notifying nurses of any infusions that need adjustment. The company aims to provide the gold standard in gravity-based IV therapy by increasing overall viability of infusion therapy when pumps are not necessary or available. Nursing efficiency and productivity can be vastly improved with remote monitoring solutions.
of patient simulation and test equipment by ‘PRONK Technologies’. Versatile and portable these are an ideal solution for the mobile EBME technician. Clinical simulators can be used to imitate cardiac scenarios, oximetry readings, and vital signs readings, encouraging quick thinking and procedural knowledge in a safe, controlled environment. New to the range is the FlowTrax IV
Pump Analyser and the OxSim 2. Also demonstrated will be the company’s vital signs simulator, The SimCube, that can simulate many NIBP pressures, ECG readings, varying respiration levels, invasive blood pressures and arrhythmia readings. The range also includes the OxSim – Pulse Oximeter Tester, the SimSlim – Multi Parameter patient simulator and the EasySim – Clinical Simulator.

Repair service reduces costs SURGICAL HOLDINGS will showcase how hospitals can manage and care for their surgical instruments in a sustainable and cost-effective way, while ensuring patients receive the highest level of care and surgery. Global steel waste remains a huge problem in healthcare. Currently, most surgical instruments – made of surgical grade stainless steel – end up in landfill and remain there, with detrimental environmental impacts. In opting to repair rather than replace these instruments, hospitals can maximise equipment longevity, cut costs, while reducing their carbon footprint.
At EBME 2022, Surgical Holdings will highlight how hospitals can put this into practice – and reduce up to 75% on the costs of repairs. A Member of The CPD Certification Service, the company provides accredited training and workshops to assist with education around these fields. Managing director, Dan Coole, said: “By opting to repair over replace, we take the best approach for sustainability and help hospitals achieve huge savings. All our repairs are carried out by a team of specialists, who are well practiced in the repair of all the major brands of power tools here in the UK. We also support the customer to create their own quality inspection procedures to further reduce unnecessary spend.”
