technology companies are making within environmental sustainability. Helen Griffiths will tell the tale of ‘The Elves and the Shoemaker’ by suggesting that there is no magic with endoscope decontamination; Ronald Wassenburg will also address endoscopes when he describes the challenges associated with complex devices. Ultrasound probes have no channels and Ursula Morby ponders whether these are the final frontier of risk for decontamination. Mett Smart will explore how UVC disinfection can be a validated, reliable method for decontamination, assessing both its efficacy and its suitability within regulated healthcare environments. Might this be the answer to Ursula’s questions? Sulisti Holmes, however, will take delegates back to consider what is the optimal approach to cleaning in, “The Great Scrub Off.” There is plenty for decontamination leaders to consider, and Rob Warburton will unpack the risks and challenges facing those at the forefront of decontamination. Technical pressures aside, it’s easy to become anxious about the well-being of the teams we rely on. Mat Moyo will turn the audience’s attention to psychological safety in healthcare. He will explore how embracing imperfection – rather than fearing it – can strengthen trust, resilience, and create teams that thrive. Another major highlight will include the Great Debate, featuring two AE(D) giants, Richard Bancroft and Brian Kirk, debating ‘for and against’ the motion: “This house believes the UK should abandon HTMs in favour of international standards.” You can view the latest programme

About the CSC

The Central Sterilising Club was founded in 1960 by a small group of enthusiastic individuals who were either working in the rapidly evolving central sterile supply departments, or were attempting to solve the many problems associated with developing rapid, safe methods for sterilising items in bulk. The Club’s strength is its multi- disciplinary membership – from medical and non-medical microbiologists, and infection prevention nurses, to Authorised Persons (sterilisers), sterile service staff, and leading figures from industry. Together, they are able to draw upon a unique blend of skills, experience and acknowledged expertise.
