Innovative hygiene solutions Exhibiting at IPC26, Arxada provides innovative hygiene solutions - the essential foundations you need for healthcare, industrial, and institutional disinfection. By leveraging its NUGEN formulations, suppliers can launch high-performance products under their own brand, bypassing complex internal R&D and the heavy financial burden of registration and maintenance.

Arxada simplifies the path to market with

products ready to be adopted. Its solutions ensure your portfolio meets the latest EN efficacy standards, providing fast, effective elimination of pathogens - including bacterial spores - within a five-minute contact time. Whether you require hand hygiene, hard surface disinfectants, or medical device disinfectants, the company offers the technical authority to future-proof your business.

Tackling IV antibiotic under-delivery B. Braun Medical is committed to sharing knowledge and raising awareness about IV antibiotic under-delivery, an often-overlooked issue that occurs when residual volume remains trapped in the line of the administration set after the IV antibiotic bag empties. This can result in an under-delivery of between 40% (50ml bag) and 20% (100ml bag), potentially compromising therapeutic efficacy. Intrafix SafeSet Flush combines a

Caresite needlefree injection port above the drip chamber with AirStop technology at the base of the drip chamber. The combination enables the administration set line to be flushed

post-medication via attachment of a small volume syringe to the Caresite needlefree injection port. This permits the residual volume of prescribed antibiotic to be administered to the patient, reducing the risk of air embolism and fluid overload which could occur if using a flushing bag. In addition, flushing in-between doses enables the administration set to be used multiple times reducing single-use plastic.

Surgical wound irrigation At the Knowlex IPC event, BD will showcase its innovative surgical wound irrigation product, Surgiphor. Visitors to the BD stand can find out more about the company’s cutting-edge solutions, designed to improve patient outcomes and streamline medical procedures, including the first and only CE approved, premixed, terminally sterile, ready to use dilute PVP-I surgical irrigation system.

Breathing system filters for infection prevention Dräger breathing system filters play a critical role in infection prevention across anaesthesia and critical care settings. With bacterial and viral filtration efficiencies of up to 99.9999%, they help reduce cross-contamination between patients, equipment, and healthcare staff. In anaesthesia, guidelines recommend placing

a filter at the Y-piece and replacing it after every patient to minimise cross-infection risk. Ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) occurs at 9 cases per 1,000 ventilation days, highlighting the need for effective filtration. Mismanagement of heat and moisture exchangers (HMEs) has also been linked to increased VAP risk, with 71% of VAP patients exposed to HME-related errors. Key features of Dräger filters include high- performance electrostatic or mechanical filtration to support infection control. Combined HMEF options, such as TwinStar Plus, deliver dual humidification and filtration in one device. Transparent housings allow visual inspection, while clear labelling and colour coding enable quick, accurate identification – supporting efficient clinical workflows and reducing error. You can view the company’s solutions at IPC26.
