a growing support infrastructure in Leeds mark a dynamic new era for the health and life science innovation pipeline. The city’s emerging innovation arc, set across

150 hectares of the city centre, is bringing together some of the most significant innovation assets in the North of England to become a driving force for innovation and emerging digital technologies. Those assets include:
n Nexus - a global community of innovators and entrepreneurs, located in a state-of-the-art innovation hub at the University of Leeds. It supports businesses across the healthtech and life sciences sectors to innovate and grow, helping them to access the research, talent and facilities across the University and beyond.
n Earmarked for Government investment, Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (LTHT) – one of the largest in Europe - is set to create a new Innovation Village in the five hectares of land released by the development of its new hospitals building at Leeds General Infirmary (LGI).
n An Innovation Pop-Up within LTHT, unmatched in the North of England, is attracting businesses to accelerate the innovation, adoption and spread of healthtech within the hospital setting.
n The Leeds’ Centre for Healthtech Innovation is a joint research initiative between the University of Leeds and LTHT. Drawing on the expertise of around 300 scientists, academics and NHS clinicians, in partnership with industry, it propels healthtech from science and innovation to evaluation and adoption in healthcare.
