Overview Core benefits remain constant and

are embedded across all we do Pete Sellars CEng, FIHEEM – Chief Executive, IHEEM

I am delighted to introduce this year’s edition of the IHEEM Handbook, which is produced for our members and professionals working within the healthcare engineering and efm sector, as well as the organisations that support them through their products and services.

At the end of last year, I reported that membership numbers have continued to rise, with a projected overall increase of almost 12% since 2019. I have no doubt that this a clear reflection of the support that IHEEM provides to all of its members. I was also proud to announce that the Institute would not be increasing its membership fees in 2023. IHEEM understands the financial challenges that many members and affiliate companies are facing at the moment, and the decision to freeze all membership fees was taken to ensure that the Institute remains accessible and inclusive, and that existing, as well as new, members can continue to enjoy all the benefits that being part of the IHEEM family

offers. You can read more about those benefits in this Handbook. Affiliate membership also

continues to grow, and a key feature of our Handbook is the comprehensive Directory of Company

Affiliates, whose products, services and expertise are vital in supporting our industry. This sits alongside the list of IHEEM Authorising Engineers, who provide independent specialist technical advice and guidance to healthcare organisations to meet regulatory and statutory requirements across a number of engineering disciplines. IHEEM celebrates its 80th Anniversary this

year, and while we continue to modernise the way we operate, the core benefits for members remain constant, and are embedded across all the work we do: to facilitate networking with others from within our sector and more widely, to provide access to the latest innovation, guidelines, and regulations impacting on our sector, and to support all members in their career and professional development.

One of our 2023 Business Priorities is

delivering our annual Events and Networking Programme, which includes the IHEEM AE Conference and our flagship Healthcare Estates Conference and Exhibition. 2022 saw record attendance in Manchester, and this year is set to be another fantastic event, covering five themes: lHealth and Social Care Planning lGovernance, Assurance & Compliance of the Healthcare Estates & Infrastructure
