The new monthly ‘Branch of the Month’ webinars announced in HEJ in November have now been scheduled for this year, with those to be held in the first quarter of 2021 outlined in the Diary Dates in this edition. (Dates for those being held throughout the rest of the year will appear in the Diary column in the magazine in subsequent quarters). IHEEM’s Marketing & Events Manager, Melissa Glass, explained: “The aim of the new webinars is to provide updates for both individual and company affiliate members on current and planned Branch activity, and to enable each Branch to engage with members directly
and online. Members will be able to watch each webinar live and on-demand via the IHEEM Learning Hub.” (see
www.iheem.org.uk/learning-hub) The first of these new events, on 21 January, will be held by the West Midlands Branch, with its committee providing an update on the Branch’s recent activities, discussing its marketing plan, and outlining how it can improve member engagement. There will also be a general update from IHEEM CEO, Pete Sellars, as well as an overview of the recently published IHEEM 2020 Annual Report. Further updates on the online Branch of the Month events will be provided
on the IHEEM website, via the usual social media platforms, and in HEJ. Call for papers issued for Healthcare Estates 2021
Following a successful Healthcare Estates Digital Week last October, plans are now under way for the 2021 flagship IHEEM conference, exhibition, and awards dinner in Manchester, with the ‘Call for Papers’ issued for the main conference and exhibition theatres. IHEEM CEO, Pete Sellars (pictured), said: “The recent and much anticipated positive news in relation to COVID-19 means we can now start to plan our live IHEEM Healthcare Estates Conference, Exhibition, and Gala Awards event in 2021 (see also Diary dates, p9). Once again, we will provide healthcare estates professionals with an opportunity to discuss and share best practice and knowledge across the wide range of current and future issues facing everyone in our sector, in both a live and digital format. IHEEM is seeking conference paper submissions that fall under the following categories: n Healthcare Provision in a Pandemic. n Strategy & Leadership. n Engineering & Facilities Management. n Planning, Design and Construction. n Innovation.
The deadline for entries is 2 February 2021. Please note that papers will be CPD-certified where appropriate. All submissions and presentations must be
in English, and should be submitted in the name of the person intending to present. More than one presentation proposal may be submitted by any company or individual as separate applications.
Where possible, commercial
