Soleno was founded by Germain and Roger Lazure in 1977, as a specialist in agricultural drainage products. It has since diversified into stormwater management – making everything from HDPE pipes to collection systems and geosynthetics. Its solutions are variously used to collect, convey, treat and store water. It says it is the only Quebec-based company that makes HDPE pipe.

Product lines:

The bulk of the company’s business and focus is in corrugated HDPE pipe, which is used across a range of sectors including residential, agriculture and industrial. Its Soliflex flexible corrugated pipe has a smooth interior wall and is, says Soleno, 25% more efficient than traditional corrugated drainage pipe. Its high flexibility means that it needs fewer connections than rigid pipe. Solflo Max is a non- perforated rigid dual-wall pipe for roadway use that is available in diameters up to 1500mm (60in), and lengths of 4m (13 feet). It also also supplies a culvert that provides flow conditions like that of a creek – thanks to a corrugated inner wall and three inner reinforcement strips. The company also supplies Weholite and DuroMaxx pipe.

Factory location:

Soleno makes pipe at its headquarters facility in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. From here, it has supplied pipe for a number of recent projects – such as more than 2,300m of Solflo pipe for a recent project to redevelop the former Canadian National Railways (CNRS) repair complex in Pointe-Saint-Charles in Quebec.
