MARIN assists in the transition to zero- emission inland shipping

ARIN and the Ministry have agreed on an approach focusing on three main


elements: a preliminary investigation to be conducted this year, followed by the development of inland ship concept designs - including new energy and propulsion configurations - in 2019, and finally, an analysis of the business cases for the most relevant alternatives.


The goals set by the Dutch Government for the energy transition are a 49% reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in 2030, and completely climate neutral, emission free transport in 20501
