THOUGHTS ▶▶▶ T See you at the next dairy event!

here is a lot to focus on at the moment. Covid-19 is still creating havoc across the world, impacting sec- tors and personal lives in various ways, and there are the ever-looming issues of climate change. Alok Sharma, the UK minister who will lead COP26 later this year in Glasgow, recently stated that the coun- tries were aligned more closely on climate issues but on some key matters they were “not yet close enough”. With everything that is going on and so much yet to do, from plans for more heavy lifting in reducing emissions to continuously adapting to a world in which Covid-19 has hogged the headlines for many months now, some things are happening that give a little less of an intense flavour to the dairy sector. Major events this year like the World Dairy Expo will go ahead in Wisconsin, US, a different approach to last year. Also, mid-September will again welcome SPACE 2021, with visitors being able to experience a trip to Rennes, France. With huge ag events like these, people in the dairy sector may again have the possibility to meet face-to-face. Although in many industries we have made the most of what virtual and digital technologies have to offer, and we have also been surprised at what we can achieve when our worlds are turned upside down, it is fantastic to have the possibility of gathering in person again (depending on travel rules). Hopefully see you at the next dairy event!
