In January, readers were asked via email if their school district or company was planning on requiring the COVID-19 vaccine for employees. Out of 445 respondents, 28 percent said they were planning on requiring the vaccine, while 38 percent said they were not. The remaining 34 percent said they were unsure at the time if they would require it.
Our school district [Michigan Center Schools in Michigan] has offered it to all employees. … Kids will go virtual that day. And yes, I am getting the vaccine. Facebook/Estelle Graves
In the January issue of School Transportation News magazine, a special report discussed school bus tracking apps and what parents expect when it comes to the user experience. Visit

Our district has an app to find the bus. It works well as long as no one’s bus breaks down and they are in a different bus! They will get pinged when the bus comes into the neighborhood. Facebook/Terra Turner Marquardt
With most students having a cell phone and/or tablet of some kind, parents should pretty much be able to track their kids wher- ever they are, whether in a bus or walking or at school. Facebook/Lonnie Whitten
The National Association of State Directors of Pupil Transportation hired Ronna Weber as its new executive director, as Charlie Hood retires this month. Read more about Hood, who is also a past president of NASDPTS and a former state director for Florida,at

Charlie will definitely be missed as he has brought so much to the association and the school transportation community. Wishing you the best Charlie! Facebook/Max Christensen
