Administrators at Beavercreek City Schools in Ohio explained that the desire to obtain their CDLs came as the district was struggling to find substitute drivers. San Francisco school bus driver Shirley Canyon was recently recognized with the inaugural Paul Stein Award from school bus contractor Zum. The award is named after a driver who logged 50 plus years behind the wheel and is presented to San Francisco drivers who “go above and beyond to get kids to and from school safely.” Read more at
