A recent online special report details the personal and professional story of Belle Tromp, who now serves as the director of transportation for Snoqualmie Valley School District in Washington. The National Association of Pupil Transportation reminded the industry to ‘use this month [February] to remind people of the value and contributions student transportation leaders make to public education.’ The following article from School Transportation News does just that. Administrators at Beavercreek City Schools in Ohio explained that the desire to obtain their CDLs came as the district was struggling to find substitute drivers. San Francisco school bus driver Shirley Canyon was recently recognized with the inaugural Paul Stein Award from school bus contractor Zum. The award is named after a driver who logged 50 plus years behind the wheel and is presented to San Francisco drivers who “go above and beyond to get kids to and from school safely.” Read more at
