Wellness Videos ETFO partnered with the Centre for Addic- tion and Mental Health to create two short videos featuring Dr. Donna Ferguson. The videos focus on strategies for coping with stress, anxiety, panic attacks and other mental health concerns. You can watch these videos on YouTube by searching ETFO Educators. Other resources can be found by searching “mental health” at etfo.ca.


National Indigenous Pride 2021


Many Pride events across Ontario continue to be on hold as the province deals with the COVID-19 pandemic. It is likely that a major- ity will be cancelled or rescheduled again this year depending on the advice of public health offi cials. Pride is an integral part of inclusive classrooms and the Elementary Teachers’ Fed- eration of Ontario continues to work towards creating safe and inclusive spaces in all of On- tario’s public schools and classrooms.

Peoples Day In cooperation with national Indigenous or- ganizations, the Government of Canada des- ignated June 21 National Indigenous Peoples Day. This date was chosen because it corre- sponds to the summer solstice, the longest day of the year, and because for generations, many Indigenous groups have celebrated their cul- ture and heritage at this time of year. National Indigenous History Month in


June is an opportunity to teach students about the cultural diversity of the First Nations, Mé- tis and Inuit in Canada and to celebrate the unique contributions of Indigenous Peoples. You can fi nd great resources at etfofnmi.ca.
