The Native American Journalists Association (NAJA) empowers more than 600 members representing tribal, nonprofit, freelance and mainstream media professionals, supporting newsroom diversity and defending challenges to free press, speech and expression.


NAJA fosters Indigenous talent and activates a powerful network to tackle critical issues and promote accurate coverage of Indian Country. As a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization, NAJA:


• Connects expert sources and mainstream media • Advocates for free press in tribal media • Provides resources to Indigenous media • Connects journalists across Indian Country

Join NAJA at the 2021 National Native Media Conference at the Hyatt Regency Phoenix on September 15–19, 2021, for hands-on workshops, panels and networking with a diverse membership of journalists and media professionals from across Indian Country.
