Celebrating the long musical conversation across the Atlantic, America is a gathering of Irish and American musicians performing songs from this rich musical dialogue.

Rosanne Cash is one of the pre-eminent songwriters in American country music with four Grammy Awards and eleven US Number One singles to her name. Rodney Crowell is a multi–Grammy Award winner whose songs have been recorded by Johnny Cash, Norah Jones and Etta James. He most recently recorded and toured his duets project with Emmylou Harris. Both Cash and Crowell have worked with Irish songwriter Paul Brady who bridges the Irish and American for this special concert. They are joined by the much-loved, Nashville-based Irish singer, Maura O’Connell, the legendary Andy Irvine and bluegrass maestro Tim O’Brien. New York based musicologist, musician and lecturer Mick Moloney and his band open proceedings with Irish music as it was performed in the US at the start of this century.
