Q3 Q4
WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST JOB? I joined a Youth Training Scheme as a Sales
Assistant at electricals retailer Rumbelows when I was 16 and I absolutely loved it!
HOW DID YOU GET INTO THE TILING INDUSTRY?
I have always had a keen interest in interior design and construction so, when the opportunity arose within our company to work on a brand-new publication in this area, I jumped at the chance.
WHO, IN ANY OTHER INDUSTRY, DO YOU MOST ADMIRE?
Lord Alan Sugar for his business acumen. He started off with very little and is now a billionaire. Also, I would love a crack at the Apprentice!
IF MONEY WAS NO OBJECT, WHAT CAR WOULD YOU BUY?
Any Ferrari. Q5
IF YOU COULD INVENT ONE PRODUCT TO MAKE YOUR JOB EASIER, WHAT
WOULD IT BE? Well, I attend a lot of exhibitions as part of my job role and some of them are particularly large so I sometimes find it hard to cover all the stands. I would therefore invent a robot version of myself so I could be in two places at the same time.

IF YOU COULD VISIT ANY PLACE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD YOU GO
AND WHY? For me it would have to be Australia and I would love to go to the Ashes.
Q10
MADELEINE MCMULLIN, MARKETING CONSULTANT FROM SOURCE
MARKETING, ASKED: Do you think that the trend for ever larger tiles will continue indefinitely or is there a point beyond which it has to stop?
Well, personally, I think that they look really effective but I think that tilers might have a problem with them if they get any larger.

WHAT DID YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU WERE GROWING UP?
Like most young boys, a footballer. I also fancied being a chef but I cut my hand chopping so quickly lost interest!
WHAT DO YOU DO TO UNWIND? I’ve recently moved by the sea so I’ve been
enjoying lots of coastal walks. There’s nothing like a sea breeze to clear your head!
IF YOU COULD HOST A DINNER PARTY WITH ANY THREE GUESTS, DEAD OR
ALIVE WHO WOULD THEY BE AND WHY? Kenny Dalglish, Al Pacino and Tommy Cooper. All so different but Tommy would break the ice and have us all in stitches.
