ETHICAL STONE REGISTER MEMBERSHIP CONTINUES

TO GROW The Ethical Stone Register continues to welcome natural stone companies as more and more specifiers are looking for ethical assurances about the materials they choose.

Developed in response to The Modern Slavery Act 2015 and the issues of sourcing materials responsibly, The Ethical Stone Register will allow natural stone companies, whatever their size, to offer a responsible and manageable ethical sourcing solution to their clients.

Family-run businesses, Lovell Stone Group and Stone Age Ltd are the latest companies to join the register and they now sit alongside Airelimestones, Albion Stone, Amarestone, Burlington Stone, Harrison Goldman, Hutton Stone, Johnsons Wellfield, Lovell Stone Group, LSI Stone, Stone Age Private, Strata Stones, Szerelmey and Talasey Group.

CERAMIQUE INTERNATIONALE UNVEILS NATURAL STONE-EFFECT

COLLECTION Tile distributor Ceramique Internationale has launched an exclusive new collection of large format stone-effect tiles, harnessing the trend for natural materials.

Stoneline is a collection of porcelain tiles inspired by the simple and unrefined surfaces found in nature, comprising a 300 x 600mm tile and a larger 600 x 600mm square tile, suitable for use on both walls and floors.

Responding to the current trend for adding natural elements in the home, Stoneline is available in four authentic shades – Natural, Grey, Light Grey and Anthracite – which capture the elegant nuances of natural stone and are perfect for creating stylish, modern interiors.

Steve Turner, MD of Ethical Stone Register member, Amarestone, commented: “It has become an issue that must not be ignored and will trigger even greater demand for ethically and responsibly sourced stone. Major players in the construction industry will want to avoid the potential embarrassment of unsavoury practices in their supply

chain. The Ethical Stone Register will be the safe source for natural stone, and I can foresee that it will become a key resource for the specifier.”

effect with the value-adding benefit of single calibre rectified production. Porcelain offers durability, easy maintenance and moisture and scratch resistance.

Stoneline co-ordinates well with wood, marble and copper for an on-trend mixed material look and is rectified as standard – making it ideal for creating seamless continuous surfaces in popular open-plan living areas. A lappato polished surface adds the final touch to this series.

Peter Vann, Director of Ceramique Internationale, said: “Stoneline is an extremely versatile range that has the ability to transform any room with the beautiful and popular effect of genuine stone. Thanks to its various colour offerings and competitive price, we expect this collection to be very well received as it captures the same true-to-life look as natural stone for a fraction of the price and difficulty.”
