EDITOR'S VOICE EDITOR’S VOICE Hello and welcome to the May/June issue of Tomorrow’s Health & Safety.
Earlier this month we were able to visit the Health & Safety Event. It was quite the show. Nineteen Group, the exhibition’s organiser, has claimed a 31% growth in visitors, with 11,816 people attending the show over the course of the three days. It certainly seemed a success and we were delighted to see so many of our readers and clients enjoying themselves. There was an abundance of live immersive demonstrations and engaging seminar sessions; plenty to keep us busy throughout the days we were there. Here’s hoping for another successful event next year (8-10 April 2025).
In this issue, Horizon Platforms shines a spotlight on the construction industry for our Plant Machinery & Site Safety feature. Construction sees the highest number of fatalities from powered access-linked incidents globally, and Horizon wants to highlight how risks can be reduced when using these specific types on machinery.
Elsewhere, for the Training & Development feature Aptus’ HSQE Manager Delicia Maxwell explains what the Aptus Academy is doing to help promote continuous professional development opportunities.
We also get updates from Slip Safety Services and Tork in our Slips, Trips and Falls and Infection Control features respectively.
Enjoy the read.
