EDITOR’S VOICE EDITOR’S VOICE Hello and welcome to the August edition of

Tomorrow’s FM. Hopefully the sun is shining as you are reading this; after a somewhat lacklustre July weather-wise, we could do with catching a few rays!

Traditionally a quiet month in the world of FM, at TFM HQ Olympic fever has struck and I have become obsessed with sports I never knew I had any interest in. From the velodrome to the equestrian, open water swimming, kayaking, trampolining and boxing – I can’t get enough.

With that in mind we’ve a few Olympic-based features for you this month; there’s advice on how to avoid the legal implications of IP at global events, and the best way to cater for a busy stadium washroom, I think we’ve covered all the bases (pun intended).

Elsewhere in this issue we revisit Document & Data Management, offering guidance on how to protect and dispose of sensitive documents, and in the Space Planning & Interiors section we look back at the history of the workplace and a branded refit for an office in Reading.

CAFM & IT has a portable focus in this edition, with attention given to the importance of apps in modern-day FM, so you won’t miss out on the latest software innovations.

Our 10 Questions this month are answered by Jackie Furey, of Baker Stuart and WIFM fame, as she explains how she got into the industry and her regret the day she sold her favourite car.

So all that remains is for me to wish you happy reading and of course - Go Team GB!
