Vinyl may have old-fashioned connotations of the flooring you would find being sold on rolls in the Seventies and Eighties, but in this issue we prove that vinyl is anything but old-school. Using the latest LVT or sheet vinyl cut onsite, it’s never been easier to create bespoke designs and logos or emulate the natural look of wood and stone without the associated challenges and costs. In fact, the latest AMA Research, on page 36, reveals that the vinyl market was worth £1.8million at the end of 2014 and has experienced higher growth rates than any other flooring material.

We also have expert advice from the Screed Scientist, who is back by popular demand. This month he discusses how vinyl de-bonding and bubbles, often caused by dampness in the screed, can be eliminated with a quick and easy test before laying the floorcovering.

Elsewhere in the magazine we have features sections on Catering as well as Screeds, Resins and Coatings with the latest updates from FeRFA the Resin Flooring Association.

And if you haven't already, don't forget to vote in our 2015 Product Awards. Turn to page 12 for details.
