At a time when the care sector is under severe strain and its carers are increasingly feeling burned out, Eammon Price, CEO of Flourish, says that technology can be the way to break this vicious cycle.


Having grown up in a family of carers and social workers, I’ve seen first-hand the pressures that they face, and this has only increased in recent years.


The sector is locked into a vicious cycle with stress causing staff shortages, which leads to rising workloads, which creates more stress, which causes even more staff shortages, and so on.


Is it any wonder that a quarter of the adult social care workforce rate their life satisfaction as low?

With an ageing population, we need more skilled, healthy and happy carers than ever before, so if we can’t improve retention rates, this is a crisis that will affect every one of us.
