KARA EDIT RANGE BY INTERWEAVE TEXTILES LTD, TRADING AS KARA The ‘New for 2022’ Kara Edit range is refining care home workwear for the UK market.
For generations, care home uniforms were considered simple utility garments, functional but never inspiring. Many uniforms have been shapeless, generally unisex with a colour pallet ranging from blue to green. Although the fundamentals of care home uniform design remain the same, to allow care professionals to move easily throughout long days, everything else has changed.
Kara began bringing new uniform brands from USA to the UK market in 2017, which brought a wider selection of colours and variety. However, the company saw there was still a gap for a premium UK-designed uniform range, focusing on the needs and desires of UK care professionals.
The Kara Edit range is flattering for all body shapes, with panelling and tapering on tops to accentuate the waist on female styles and a perfect balance between form-fitting and comfort on the styles for men. Trims such as multiple types of unique pockets, exposed zips and embroidered details make all the difference.
The uniform fabric has been developed to be durable for work, while providing exceptional comfort and functionality.
3RD PLACE PATIENT BOOKING APP BY CHEC
CHEC’s new patient booking app is the first of its kind to be offered by a community health service to enable flexible and more accessible booking for patients, representing a landmark for digital transformation in community healthcare.
The app aims to improve patient access to health services, and is part of CHEC’s patient-first approach. It determines the urgency of an appointment, and allows patients to book a time that suits them. This means that urgent cases are prioritised, increasing efficiency, while letting patients book the most convenient time possible, minimising cancellations and missed appointments.
In doing so, the app helps to reduce stress from what is oſten a difficult process for patients. This increased efficiency is part of CHEC’s overall effort to reduce NHS waiting lists, and could help to mitigate the impact of potential future health pressures, such as pandemics. The app was launched in January 2022, with all patients now being given the option to book their appointment via the app. It is already used by almost 50% of CHEC’s patients. However, patients who are unable or unwilling to use the app are not disadvantaged as they are still able to book their appointment through traditional methods.
The shiſt to a streamlined mobile booking system is a development in line with post-pandemic digital transformation, and will help improve access to and quality of care as health services embrace the benefits of technology.
