The Cleaning & Hygiene Suppliers Association (CHSA) is proudly promoting standards and innovation at The Cleaning Show 2023.


The CHSA is sponsor of the CSSA’s Innovation Showcase. The event brings together some of the industry’s most exciting product and service innovations, with the very best exhibited at the Cleaning Show.


The CHSA is also participating in the Cleaning Show Conference, advising buyers of cleaning and hygiene products about how to make sure they get what they pay for.


With inflation high, tempting prices offered by the unscrupulous can seem impossible to resist. These products and services, at prices which appear too good to be true, may be compromising on quality and quantity. At the Cleaning Show Conference, CHSA Chair Lorcan Mekitarian will highlight some egregious examples, and give buyers the information they need to differentiate between unscrupulous but apparently credible companies, and those trading ethically.


The value of the Mark was highlighted in 2022, when the CHSA issued a ‘cease and desist’ order to a Turkish manufacturer of plastic sacks that was claiming Accredited status.


Lorcan explained: “Our Accreditation Schemes are a stamp of quality. Our advice to buyers is to look first for the


Accreditation Scheme logo to guarantee quality. If there’s any uncertainty about the legitimacy of the manufacturer’s or distributor’s claim, check our website. It carries a full list of members. If they’re not listed on our website, they’re not Accredited by the CHSA.”


The CHSA’s Independent Inspector audits members every year. Every CHSA member also signs the Association’s rigorous Code of Practice, which incorporates the Competition and Market’s Authority’s Green Claims Code. It requires members to ‘maintain a high standard in the conduct of its business’.


The combination of the Code of Practice and Accreditation Scheme membership means every member:


• Trades ethically and sustainably; •


Provides quality, fit for purpose products; and

Hygiene industry disruptor, 2Pure Products, will be sharing its sustainable cleaning approach at The Cleaning Show 2023.


Visitors to stand E10 will learn about the latest green cleaning innovations, including 2Pure’s new closed loop recycling scheme, LoopBox, and its market-leading multi- purpose odour and cleaning product, OdorBac Tec4. The new OdorBac Tec4 Rhubarb scent will also be launched at the event.


The UK’s first plastic closed loop initiative to recycle both containers and packaging helps customers achieve their net zero ambitions by reducing single use plastic and slashing CO2


emissions.


OdorBac Tec4 users will now receive their order in the LoopBox. When the OdorBac Tec4 container is empty, it’s put back into the LoopBox, collected by 2Pure’s UK distributor, BCHS, and returned to their local depot.


On their next delivery date, 2Pure collects and returns to their factory, where the containers are sorted, cleaned and dried. They are then refilled, repacked in a LoopBox, and

redelivered to distributor depots, returning the containers to the closed loop cycle.


The LoopBox system prevents virgin plastic from ever being produced, reusing OdorBac’s recycled plastic bottle again and again. No additional journeys are made for collection or delivery, and 2Pure also offsets the carbon on all its


scheduled delivery and collection journeys, slashing CO2 emissions. Customers can see their plastic and CO2


every month in a customised report.
